About Honu Huts
Moving to Hawaii with our four children was a dream come true in itself. Then when we opened Honu Huts, The Sea Turtle Store of Hawaii, we finally felt like we had arrived.
Frank and Cami began their marriage and family in Seattle, Washington. We lived there until 1999 at which time we took the leap and changed our whole lives. We learned the true meaning of Aloha the first days we were here in the generosity of the people that live on The Big Island.
We were enjoying our new home so much and wanted to share the beauty of the island with others. The Sea Turtle seemed like the perfect embodiment of the Aloha we had found. In the years since we had moved to Hawaii we have been honored to learn about these incredible sea creatures and their special role in the culture, history, and present day Hawaii.
Grand Opening Day June 1st, 2005
We spent months searching out the perfect products. When we decided that we needed more specialty items we found ways to have them made. Then on June 1st of 2005 we celebrated our grand opening of Honu Huts, The Sea Turtle Store of Hawaii. Since that day we no longer feel like we are working, it is more like playing, and our kids love it too.
